Privacy Policy — Giltrap AgriZone
This Privacy Policy explains how the Giltrap AgriZone mobile application (“we”, “our”, “Giltrap AgriZone”) collects, uses, discloses and stores personal information when you install and use the app. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address and other details you provide when registering.
- Time & work data: time entries, timesheets, shift and break details, and job numbers (including those entered via QR code).
- Device data: device model, OS version, app version, and identifiers needed to provide and improve the service.
- Photos & media: images of machinery or equipment that you capture or upload via the app.
- Usage data: logs about how you use the app (features used, crash reports, performance metrics).
- Notifications: data required to send push notifications (device token) and your notification preferences.
2. Permissions
- Camera & Photos: required to take and upload machine photos. You may decline and still use other app features.
- Storage: used for offline caching of photos, timesheets and other data until network is available.
- Network access: required to sync data, receive updates and download promotions.
- Push notifications: optional; used to deliver important company alerts and promotions.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate and maintain the app and its features (time tracking, timesheets, QR scanning, photo uploads).
- To sync offline data when you return online and to prevent data loss.
- To send notifications, important company updates, and promotions (where you have opted in).
- To analyse usage and improve app performance and user experience.
- To investigate and resolve technical issues and to protect against fraud or misuse.
4. Sharing and disclosure
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We may share information with trusted service providers who help operate the app (e.g., cloud storage, analytics, push notification services). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Giltrap AgriZone, its users, or others.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal and usage data for as long as necessary to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and related data (see “Your rights” below).
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure; absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Offline functionality and sync
The app is designed to work offline for core features. Data created or modified offline (photos, time entries, etc.) is stored on your device and will be uploaded to our servers once a network connection is available.
8. Your rights
- You may access, correct or delete personal information associated with your account by using the app profile settings or by contacting us.
- You may opt out of promotional communications and push notifications at any time.
- To request changes or deletion, contact us (see below). We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
9. Children
The app is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us to request removal.
10. International transfers
Data may be stored and processed in New Zealand and in other countries where our service providers operate. We will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring data across borders.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish the revised policy within the app and include the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
